We, the undersigned human rights organisations, condemn in strongest possible terms the Azerbaijani authorities’ detention of Anar Mammadli, a prominent human rights defender, leader of the country’s largest independent election watchdog and member of the Network of Human Rights Houses. Georgia: International solidarity with Georgian civil society
More than forty-five human rights organisations from around the world, including FIDH and OMCT within the framework of the Observatory for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders, signed a letter in solidarity with Georgian civil society, condemning the efforts of the Georgian government to introduce the law on the transparency of foreign influence.

LEGAL EVALUATION OF THE APRIL 30 - MAY 1 RALLY DISPERSAL
On April 30, 2024 and in the early hours of May 1, 2024, the Ministry of Internal Affairs broke up a peaceful demonstration against the Russian law was illegitimate and disproportionate, the physical force used amounted to torture, inhuman and degrading treatment, and the practice of administrative detention became an instrument of excessive restriction of freedom of assembly. THE NON-GOVERNMENTAL AND MEDIA ORGANIZATIONS SUSPEND COOPERATION FORMATS WITH THE GOVERNMENT UNTIL THE RUSSIAN LAW IS DROPPED
1. Suspend cooperation with the government until the government drops the bill;2. Will never register in any defaming registers;3. Call on everyone, on Sunday, April 28, at 19:00, to protest against the Russian law in Republic Square. We also invite everyone to protest if a second plenary hearing is scheduled.

Yesterday, on April 16, the police arrested 13 peaceful protesters who enjoyed the right of freedom of assembly and expression and defended Georgia's European future. We, Georgian non-governmental organizations, were looking for detainees in the detention centers the whole night, meeting them, talking to them, describing the facts of the violations of their rights.
