THE COALITION REACTS TO THE CONFERENCE OF JUDGES
The XXXII Conference of Judges has been scheduled for March 24. According to the agenda, among other issues, the Conference will discuss the election of members and the Secretary of the High Council of Justice and "the developments concerning the courts".

The matter of assessing the integrity of judges cannot be dismissed, as it reflects the desire of the Georgian people to enhance the judiciary and pursue integration into the European Union
We are addressing the statements made by the Prime Minister and the Speaker of Parliament, who have asserted that the matter of ensuring the integrity of judges through a vetting mechanism is closed. However, the issue of improving the judiciary cannot simply be considered closed.

Belarus: One-year anniversary of unjust verdicts against Viasna members
One year ago, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ales Bialiatski, FIDH Vice-President Valiantsin Stefanovic and Viasna lawyer Uladzimir Labkovich were sentenced to ten, nine and seven years of imprisonment on fabricated charges, respectively. The Observatory for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders (FIDH-OMCT) and the undersigned organizations demand their immediate and unconditional release, and call on the international community to use all available diplomatic, political and other means at its disposal to urge the Belarusian authorities to respect the rule of law and to free all those convicted under politically motivated charges.

Strasbourg Court Held Violation of Right to Life and Ordered the State to Pay 12 000 EURO to the Applicant
The European Court of Human Rights published judgment on the case Elibashvili v. Georgia and held the violation of the procedural limb of Article 2 of the Convention. Human Rights Center prepared the application for the applicant, in which she complained for the death of her son and ineffective investigation into the incident based on the Articles 2 and 13 of the European Convention on Human Rights.

Evaluation of Feasibility of the Amendments Introduced to the Law of Georgia on Broadcasting
The Amendments Introduced to the Law of Georgia on Broadcasting concerned the procedure of appealing the decisions made by self-regulatory bodies in the Communications Commission (ComCom), particularly in cases where there is a violation concerning the ban on disseminating programs and advertisements containing obscenity, hate speech, and calls to terrorism.
